Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez remains a target for Real Madrid president Fernando Martin.
Despite Benitez committing to a new one-year contract extension this week, his signing was discussed at a technical meeting by Martin yesterday.
Martin met with vice-president Emilio Butragueno and finance chief Sanchez Albornoz to discuss coaching options.
Along with Benitez, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger's name was again high on the agenda, along with AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Wenger is Martin's No1 choice, but is unlikely to be prised away from the Gunners after he criticised the Real supremo for publicly revealing their interest in Thierry Henry and Cesc Fabregas prior to their Champions League meeting last month.
