Harry Redknapp admitted Portsmouth's latest 'Great Escape' had easily eclipsed their Premiership survival efforts of two season's ago.
Redknapp said: "To take 20 points from our last nine games is unbelievable - it has been a terrific run.
"When you look at the position we were in, what we have done is just fantastic and all credit to the players.
"The last time we did this two seasons ago we took 21 points from our last 10 games, that was some achievement.
"But this one betters that because then it was my own team.
"On this occasion I've come in and I've had to build my own team because the players that were here simply were not good enough for Portsmouth football club."
