Real Madrid have made enquiries for Inter Milan midfielder Dejan Stankovic.
Taking advantage of the strong relationship they have with Inter, Real intermediaries have asked about Stankovic during talks over Adriano's future at the San Siro.
Stankovic is contracted to Inter until 2008 and is a favourite of both coach Roberto Mancini and the club's patron Massimo Moratti.
Real's existing board, however, may seek to push the boat to land Stankovic as they face re-election in the summer.
