Clark to help Newcastle land Fulham's Malbranque

Newcastle United are ready to offer £4 million for Fulham contract rebel Steed Malbranque.

The transfer-listed French midfielder looks certain to leave Craven Cottage this summer after turning down a new contract.
And Toon boss Glenn Roeder is to use Lee Clark, his newly-appointed coach, to persuade Malbranque, 26, to move north.
The pair played together at Fulham and Clark believes it would be a major coup.
Liverpool and Manchester City have shown an interest in Malbranque who has been with Fulham since 2001.
But Newcastle are now ready with a firm offer as doubts persist over Kieron Dyer’s fitness.
