Real Madrid know Man Utd's Rooney reluctant to move abroad

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is aware of Real Madrid's interest.

Real president Fernando Martin is mapping out a long-term strategy to lure the England ace to Spain after being convinced by the club's marketing chiefs that the 20 year-old will become a bigger star than David Beckham.
Martin knows Real can outbid any contract United are willing to put in front of Rooney and would be prepared to almost double his current £2.3 million salary should the player indicate he's ready to move.
However, Rooney has made Real aware through intermediaries that he has no interest in playing abroad. Indeed, the striker chose United ahead of Chelsea two years ago because it was closer to his family base on Merseyside.
