Arsenal wreck Juventus plans for Liverpool's Gerrard

Arsenal have wrecked Juventus' pursuit of Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.

Juve chiefs will drop their push for the England midfielder should they be eliminated from the Champions League at the quarterfinals stage. Juve's expected early exit will cost them £15 million.
Juve's board were serious about signing Gerrard, with director general Luciano Moggi twice sending representatives to England in the last month to sound out both the player and Liverpool about a deal.
Moggi was preparing a bid of Jonathan Zebina plus £15 million for the Reds captain.
