Nike have rejected the chance to buy Sunderland.
The People says Nike, whose UK HQ is close to the Stadium of Light, were offered the club - valued at about £60 million - with under-fire chairman Bob Murray keen to sell.
But with Sunderland reported to be about £38m in debt, the Americans rejected the opportunity.
