AC Milan confirm Real Madrid interest for Ancelotti - March 20, 2006
AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has confirmed the interest of Real Madrid in coach Carlo Ancelotti.
"There is certainly a real interest from Real," revealed Galliani. "I don't know if there has been actual contact, but former President Florentino Perez rarely makes a move without informing me.
"All I'll say is that I will put a bet on Ancelotti being our Coach next term as well. "Ancelotti will stay at Milan for many years to come," insisted Galliani. "We don't tend to sell our star players, let alone our Coaches. He has a year left on his contract and we'll discuss an extension soon, as we are happy with him and he is content with us.
"We have been in the top places of the UEFA rankings for the last five years, so there is no need to change tacticians. Even if Ancelotti does ask to go, we will stay good friends. There is a very affectionate rapport with Carlo and that will always remain."
