Liverpool ahead of Olympiakos for Valencia's Aurelio - March 15, 2006

Liverpool are battling Olympiakos for exciting Valencia wing-back Fabio Aurelio.

The Sun says the Reds will beat off Greek side Olympiakos to land Brazilian left-back Aurelio this summer. The Valencia defender, 26, is a free agent and available on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Benitez knows all about Aurelio as he played under him when the Spaniard was in charge at the club.
Olympiakos are keen but Aurelio is almost certain to sign a pre-contract agreement with the Reds shortly. He will pick up around £25,000 a week.
