Perez assures Martin over Camacho Real Madrid return - March 21, 2006
Florentino Perez made a personal call to Real Madrid president Fernando Martin yesterday assuring him that he is not behind any factions on the club's board.
It's been suggested Martin will face opposition over some of his decisions from directors who side with predecessor Perez.
But AS says Perez called Martin yesterday from Miami and said: "You have a free hand to contract (Jose Antonio) Camacho, (Fernando) Hierro, Vicente del Bosque or whoever you want.
"You are the president of Madrid and it is not true that I have said to the board of directors that they must oppose you."
Indeed, Perez went further: "I will help you convince them of your decisions if you want me to."
Martin wants to bring Camacho back to the club as sports director, while Del Bosque would take charge of the club's junior setup.
