Lazio fans set for more Lotito protests

Lazio president Claudio Lotito knows he'll be again subject of terrace abuse ahead of today's match against Sampdoria.

Fans were so upset over Lotito's refusal to relinquish some of his control to a potential investor they staged a major protest at the last home game with only 5,000 spectators turning up to watch the Biancoceleste take on Reggina.
If Lotito is hoping the controversy is going to calm down he seems certain to be disappointed, with many fans desperate for an injection of cash to strengthen the playing staff.
The man causing the most unrest for Lotito is former Italy international and ex-Lazio player Giorgio Chinaglia.
"We have made a request to meet Lotito but we haven't had any response yet,'' said Chinaglia.
"If Lotito said no, my group would still wait to get another chance.''
In the meantime, Chinaglia has confirmed he will be at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.
Lazio coach Delio Rossi will be hoping the controversy surrounding the club will not hinder his team's chances of qualifying for European competition next season.
The Biancoceleste went down to a 3-1 defeat against Internazionale last weekend that left them two points behind Livorno and Chievo, who occupy the final UEFA Cup position.
"There are eight games left to play and for us they are eight finals,'' said Rossi. "We must maintain our concentration, for our destiny is in our hands.
"If we don't do well, we have only ourselves to blame.''
