Gudjohnsen uses Barcelona move to support friend

New Barcelona signing Eidur Gudjohnsen has used his move from Chelsea as a show of support for a grieving pal.

The Icelandic striker is leaving Chelsea for £8million and will earn £90,000 a week for the next four years in Spain.
Gudjohnsen insisted on being given the No 7 shirt as a major part of the deal with the European champions.
He said: "The dad of one of my best friends passed away recently and we are all very sad. He was a lovely man.
"Seven was his favourite number so I really want to wear that number as a tribute to him.
"He was a special guy and we will all miss him. It is just a gesture of support."
"I am delighted to be joining Barcelona.
"I had good times and success at Chelsea but joining Barcelona is a dream for most players - only a few actually get to achieve it."
