Ukraine defender Vladislav Vashchuk has blamed frogs outside the team's hotel for their dismal 4-0 reverse against Spain last week.
"Because of the frogs' croaking we hardly got a wink of sleep," explained Vashchuk. However, a spokeswoman for the team's Seminaris Seehotel base in Potsdam denied any problems.
"Obviously there are frogs in the lake. There are also birds. In the morning they wake up and start going cheep. It's logical. Are you suggesting that we should go and catch all the birds?"
