Real Sociedad sports director Jose Bakero has taken over the coaching reigns after yesterday's departure of Gonzalo Arconada.
Arconada and Real insist the decision was mutual, though club sources have told AS that the coach offered his resignation in the morning.
Meanwhile, Bakero will be in charge for the remaining nine games of the season and said: "To oversee the exit of two coaches in a season is difficult.
"When I joined in the summer I saw it as a personal challenge and I see this appointment as an extension of that.
"I am convinced we can save ourselves. If the team needs a leader, I am the right man."
