Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has revealed teammate Ruud van Nistelrooy has spoken with Holland coach Marco van Basten over concerns for his World Cup place.
Van der Sar, who has been coaching a group of schoolchildren to help launch the 50th anniversary of the Busby Babes' first title success, said: "Ruud spoke with Van Basten and they had a good conversation.
"It's a difficult situation but it's down to him and down to the hard work he shows on the training pitch so that he can come back again."
