Man Utd aim for midfield signings before World Cup

Manchester United chief David Gill has revealed they hope to sign their new midfielders before the World Cup.

United are chasing at least two new midfielders for the summer market and Gill told the Manchester Evening News: "I am sure we will come out with all guns blazing next season. We have some great players. We are going to strengthen in the summer and can look forward very positively.
"We clearly are looking for a midfield player or players and let's see what happens there. The rest of the squad is in pretty good shape. I'd like to do all the business before the World Cup but it is not always feasible. If we can, we will; if not, we will do it when we can.
"The sooner you do it, the better for the players concerned. The sooner they get into the United family, the quicker they can integrate.
"We are confident we can secure the talent we want to bring in. It is a very exciting time for the club."
