Tottenham table bid for Blackburn's Reid

Tottenham have made a formal £2 million bid for Blackburn Rovers midfielder Steven Reid.

The Guardian says the offer was immediately rejected by the Ewood Park board, who paid Millwall £2.5m for Reid three years ago.
It is believed that Blackburn will seek £6m for the 25-year-old, though this seems an ambitious demand given that the club's bargaining position has been weakened by Reid's contract situation.
Reid has been offered a four-year extension to his current deal, which has 12 months to run, but the player reportedly favours a move to the capital.
