Liverpool confident of full Cisse recovery

Liverpool medical chiefs are confident Djibril Cisse will make a full recovery from his broken-leg shocker suffered this week.

France striker Cisse broke his leg after a clash with China captain Zhi Zheng on the same day Marseille were in talks to take the flamboyant Liverpool forward back to France. That deal is now off, meaning Cisse will have to limp back to Anfield after the summer holidays - back to a club he knows were ready to offload him.
Cisse had an operation on the fractured tibia and fibula in his right leg yesterday and Liverpool club doctor Mark Waller expects him to make a speedy recovery. "Everything has gone in a very straightforward fashion," said Waller. "The fracture has been repaired with some metalwork."
