Cisse leg-break sends Liverpool plans into spin

Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse has suffered World Cup heartbreak after suffering a second broken-leg injury against China last night.

Cisse was chasing the ball down the right flank and was knocked off balance by an opposing defender.
As he fell, the player’s right leg twisted under him and buckled above the ankle.
He was carried off with a suspected broken leg — just 20 months after horrifically breaking his other leg while playing for his club at Blackburn.
Cisse, 24, was ruled out for six months with that injury and could now face a similar spell on the sidelines.
His hopes of a big-money transfer back to France this summer look scuppered.
France coach Raymond Domenech admitted: “This is all a big drama. It is bad but we cannot say very much right now.
“He has gone to the hospital for tests and we are extremely worried. We all saw what happened and it is very disappointing.”
Marseille and Lyon had both been interested in taking the striker on loan next season — but Kop boss Rafa Benitez was holding out for an £8million all-or-nothing deal.
