Lazio stars Angelo Peruzzi and Massimo Oddo have urged president Claudio Lotito to hand captain Paolo Di Canio a new contract.
Oddo said: "Di Canio is much more than simply a Lazio player, he has the club in his blood. He's a symbol and has demonstrated he's a good one. He has had a good championship and now he should be re-signed."
Peruzzi also said: "Di Canio is a friend, he does not have a contract and it is not right that he's facing the second season in a row not knowing where he'll be playing."
