Everton to beat Bolton, Wigan for £7M AJ

Everton are favourites to land Crystal Palace striker Andy Johnson.

The Guardian says Everton are hopeful of signing Johnson for a club record £7m before the beginning of the World Cup finals, edging out interest from Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers in the process.
It is understood that Johnson is keen to move to Goodison Park ahead of either Wigan or Bolton. The Latics' manager Paul Jewell has offered £5m plus a player, believed to be the midfielder Damien Francis, with Sam Allardyce having also inquired as to his availability.
