Chelsea confident Shevchenko wants London move

Chelsea are convinced AC Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko will make public his decision to move to Stamford Bridge - possibly as early as today.

The Times says although Milan are desperately trying to change Shevchenko's decision, his mind is virtually made up, with only the nature of his exit strategy to be determined. The 29-year-old is desperate to leave on good terms after seven successful years at the San Siro but, by offering him a two-year contract extension, Milan have deliberately sought to make his departure as difficult as possible, placing the onus on him to seek a transfer.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich is not getting carried away just yet, but remains confident of finally landing his man. However, Milan will prove difficult negotiating partners and a deal is unlikely before the World Cup.
