Man Utd boss Ferguson to make Riquelme check

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to interrupt his summer holiday to check on Villarreal midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme.

The Mirror says Riquelme is on the Manchester United manager's wanted list and he will fly to Germany to make a final check on the Argentina play-maker. Fergie is set to leave his annual holiday retreat at Cap Ferrat in the south of France to watch Riquelme when Argentina play Holland on June 21 in Frankfurt.
Riquelme first came to Fergie's attention when United played Villarreal in the Champions League last season and he has become one of the most sought-after players in Europe.
Although Villarreal are understood to have a £15million price tag on Riquelme, United are confident they can land him for around £10m.
