Dowie agrees 3-year Charlton deal

Iain Dowie has agreed a three-year contract with Charlton Athletic.

The Mirror says Dowie has signed a three-year deal to take over at The Valley and will be unveiled at a press conference on Tuesday.

The move is certain to infuriate Simon Jordan, chairman of Dowie's former club Crystal Palace. At the time Jordan maintained he would "not be very happy" if Dowie went three miles up the road to Charlton because he had said he wanted to move north with his family.

Charlton have called a media conference for Tuesday to announce their new manager and two assistants.
