adidas aid Chelsea push for AC Milan's Shevchenko

If Bayern Munich's Michael Ballack leaps at Chelsea's mega-contract offer, then it is likely that AC Milan's Andriy Shevchenko will be persuaded to take a look too.

German football heavyweights adidas are pulling some strings in the international transfer arena and their influence could yet bring Shevchenko to Stamford Bridge.
According to Spanish daily AS, adidas have been instrumental in coordinating negotiations between Ballack and Chelsea. In return for their influence, it is suggested Roman Abramovich will be persuaded to invest in adidas' biggest stars.
Whilst adidas hold no influence over Nike's Ronaldinho or Puma's Samuel Eto'o, one player they do have under their wing is Milan's Ukrainian superstar Shevchenko, who has hitherto resisted Abramovich's millions.
However, as of next season, everything Chelsea will be adorned with the iconic three stripes of Adidas - which also may include Shevchenko.
