Newcastle chairman to offer Roeder job

Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd will hold talks with Glenn Roeder in the coming days over his future at St James' Park.
The Mirror says it is believed he is to be given the choice whether he wants to be manager or director of football in the new-look two-tier set-up planned by Shepherd.
And, secondly, he can choose who he would like to work with. Roeder, 50, is a friend and fan of former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier.
But it will not be easy to lure the Lyon manager to Tyneside.
