Man Utd set to send Howard on-loan to Everton

Manchester United goalkeeper Tim Howard is set to join Everton on a 12-month loan next season.

The American stopper, 26, signed from New York Metro Stars for £2.3million in July 2003 and at one stage looked like being the new Peter Schmeichel.
Howard was the regular No 1 in his debut campaign but last season he shared the job with Roy Carroll, and has since lost his place to Edwin van der Sar.
This season he has made just five cup appearances and did not feature at all in the Premiership.
It is understood Howard asked for the move to revive his career, and he is now expected to leapfrog Nigel Martyn and Richard Wright into Everton's first team.
