Fulham desperate to keep Malbranque

Chris Coleman is "desperate" for Steed Malbranque to sign a new contract as Fulham seek to build a more competitive Premiership squad.

Skipper Luis Boa Morte and midfield enforcer Papa Bouba Diop recently committed their long-term future to the club and Malbranque, 26, is the only one of Fulham's star trio yet to agree fresh terms.
Coleman explained: "Steed's people are coming in to talk to us. We're desperate to keep him. He's got a year left and we're desperate to get him on a longer contract.
"I think we can do things at Fulham, especially with the transfer funds being made available.
"If we can hang onto our best players and keep adding, we can become a top-10 club."
