Charlton Athletic chief Peter Varney has admitted they're seeking a new manager as Alan Curbishley considers his future at The Valley.
Varney said: "Alan is continuing to do so well and we all hope he remains in charge.
"But we are not sitting on our hands waiting for a decision to be made.
"We are now actively drawing up a shortlist of possible replacements, which is what any sensible business should do. Alan is fully aware of what is going on."
Colchester manager Phil Parkinson is understood to be one candidate for the job.
Curbishley refused to talk about any second interview for the England job. But he admitted: "It is bizarre. I am drifting around managing the club while waiting to hear what is going on."
