Former France No1 Fabien Barthez is being lined up for a shock move to Fiorentina.
Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli is pushing to bring the ex-Manchester United goalkeeper to Italy next season. Prandelli has failed to be convinced by Bogdan Lobont and sees Barthez as the solution to his goalkeeping problem.
The Frenchman's experience and on-field exuberance is attractive to Prandelli, who has acknowledged they've missed the influence of Sebastien Frey since he broke down earlier this term.
Barthez is off contract at Olympique Marseille in June and has indicated he's ready to move on.
