Fiorentina have made a late move for Valencia wing-back Fabio Aurelio.
The Brazilian is off contract and will leave Valencia at the end of this season. Liverpool were seen as favourites for Aurelio, but Fiorentina director general Pantaleo Corvino has made a move for the defender.
Aurelio was in advanced talks with Liverpool officials last month, but negotiations have cooled allowing Corvino to make his move.
Meanwhile, Corvino is eyeing Lyon fullback François Clerc. The Frenchman is also a Bosman prospect and Corvino was spotted in Lyon's team hotel before Tuesday night's Champions League clash with AC Milan.
