Inter Milan have made a late bid to land Schalke 04 midfielder Christian Poulsen.
The Denmark international is back on the market after baulking at penning a pre-contract agreement with Villarreal before a March 10 deadline.
AC Milan were convinced they had reached a settlement with Villarreal for Poulsen last week, but the midfielder's future is up-in-the-air after Inter made a bigger a contract offer to his representatives over the weekend.
Poulsen has three offers on the table: Villarreal are offering £1 million-a-year; AC Milan £1.4 million-a-year and Inter £1.6 million-a-year.
