Manchester United are weighing up a move for Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole.
The Daily Star Sunday says United are ready to bid for the Blues ace at the end of this season.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been chasing Cole since he was 14 years old and sees him as the ideal long-term replacement for Paul Scholes.
Any move to Old Trafford will depend on Cole, however, with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho reluctant to sell any of his stars to his nearest Premiership rivals.
