Man Utd rival Juventus for Dacourt

Manchester United are rivaling Juventus for Roma midfielder Olivier Dacourt.

It emerged yesterday that Juve director general Luciano Moggi had tabled a three-year contract worth £750,000-a-year to the Frenchman's representatives.
However, Dacourt's agent, Giorgio De Giorgis, said: "Olivier is very happy at Roma and enjoys a very big contract.
"But there's been no contact about a new offer. If Roma want to re-sign him to use as a pawn in the market, then we can talk. But for now, Olivier will play until the last day of his contract with Roma."
According to L'Equipe, United have made a move for Dacourt in recent days after it became clear Roma would not be offering new terms.
United chief scout Martin Ferguson has been active in Italy since January and has seen Dacourt in action several times this season.
