Samaras happy at Eastlands

Georgios Samaras has reacted to Stelios Giannakopoulos's recent comments that the Manchester City striker should be performing on a bigger stage.
The winter window recruit read the views from his Greek international colleague but has informed skysports.com of his happiness at the way he has settled into life at Eastlands.
Although his goal counted for little in the 2-1 defeat at Tottenham at the weekend, it was the 21-year-old's fifth since joining Stuart Pearce's side, proving he is capable of cutting it at Premiership level.
When asked about Bolton Wanderers star Stelios's promptings about a move to another club, he was honest in his appraisal of the situation.
"It's too early to speak about it," Samaras told skysports.com. "I just came to City.
"Stelios is a good friend of mine, a player and a person that I really admire.
"He feels the same for me and that's why I think he said what he said.
"Of course I want to make a step forward in my career, but this is going to come for me in the future and only if I play consistently good football with City.
"I'm very happy to play for Manchester City. I will keep working hard and I think that, through the success of City, I will go further.
"I work to be one of the best. I work to reach the top."
Samaras denied having any official contact with Arsenal before joining City despite intense speculation that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger wanted to buy him from Heerenveen.
"No, absolutely nothing with Arsenal," he responded. "Of course, there were many offers, official and unofficial, for me but I didn't take them into consideration.
"I wanted to play football.
"A few days before the New Year, I spent a lot of time thinking about my future and I decided that City was the best choice for me.
"I decided to reject all the other offers and think only of Manchester City.
"I said to myself - go to City or stay at Heerenveen."
