Birmingham chairman: No minders for Blackburn's Savage

Birmingham City won't provide any protection for Blackburn midfielder Robbie Savage as he returns to St Andrew's.
Last season it would have cost Brum £100,000 in extra police costs to guarantee his safety.

But this time Birmingham chairman David Gold has revealed no special measures are planned at St Andrew's.
He said: "This game won't be quite as heated and I certainly don't know of any special security measures for Robbie.
"I would think there'll be some banter with Robbie and he'll play to the gallery as he always has."
Fiery Savage played a major part in establishing Birmingham in the top flight after moving from Leicester in the summer of 2002.
But he angered fans when he quit Brum during the latter stages of the January 2005 transfer window to make the switch to Ewood Park.
The former Welsh international did not participate in the meeting between the clubs at St Andrew's at the end of last season as part of a gentleman's agreement.
It was that arrangement that spared Birmingham the £100,000 police costs which co-owner Sullivan claimed they would have run up.
The Blues are now locked in a fight for their Premiership lives while Blackburn are seeking a place in Europe.
But Gold claims the heat has been taken out of Savage's return by the 16-month time lapse since his departure.
Clearly, though, all has not been forgotten.
Gold added: "The way Robbie went from Birmingham meant we had very little time to get someone else in. We were forced to ask Robbie where the loyalty was in what he did.
"He was a hero and did so much for us. But that's all old ground for us and we all have to move on and the main thing is to try and get three points."
