Man Utd boss Ferguson delighted with AIG spending cash

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will have £20 million to spend on new players this summer following the club's record sponsorship deal with AIG.

United chief David Gill said: "We have budgets to buy players in the summer and we will be sticking to those. The manager will get what he needs.
"We want to make sure we improve the squad for next season."
Ferguson was delighted with the shirt deal as he has penned his hitlist for the summer.
Fergie said: "When you have sponsorship deals it is always about Manchester United looking to improve their team.
"A deal like this benefits the club as a whole."
United could have had more cash had they gone with on-line gambling firm Mansion, who were offering £70m. But United felt that route was not in keeping with the club's image.
Gill said: "We looked at all the opportunities and assessed what was right for Manchester United.
"It was about the size of the partner and what is right for the culture and ethos of the club."
