Aston Villa boss David O'Leary has again declared he's the right man in charge after yesterday's 3-1 defeat of Birmingham City.
Victory eased the pressure on O'Leary and he said: "I want to be the one who puts things right. I want to fill the stadium with passionate fans.
"I'm delighted for the fans and the players. As for Cahill, that goal was a definite one-off!"
Rookie Cahill volleyed home a stunning second-half scissor-kick.
And it helped Villa clinch their first home league win over bitter rivals Brum since 1983.
Defender Cahill, 20, admitted: "I didn't know much about it. I just saw the ball go up in the air.
"I jumped and swung my foot. It is not the sort of thing I do regularly.
"It is all the more special with the circumstance around the game and it being in front of the home fans. I won't forget it in a hurry."
