Joseph Yobo has indicated he's ready to sign his new Everton contract.
Yobo has moved to discourage suspicions that, with only a year left on his deal, he is angling for a move away from Merseyside.
Yobo said: "Contracts do not get settled in a day. There is no problem between my advisors and the chairman, they get on very well.
"I love Everton and I am settled on Merseyside, and I am a bit surprised how it all came out, it's a private thing, but there is no problem.
"If my advisors and the club can reach agreement that will be fine by me."
