Arsenal boss Wenger: Euro success not enough to keep Henry

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists winning the Champions League won't convince Thierry Henry to seek fresh challenges.

He said: "The best way to keep your best players is always to win - but it is not enough. There is more in it than that.

"When you commit yourself to a club for a long period it is not just about winning.

"It is because you share the right values with the club and you play the kind of football you love to play. I like to think that is a better reason to stay here."

On the other hand the Arsenal boss does not agree with the notion that should they win European football's most coveted prize Henry could consider his work done in north London.

"You can take that both ways," he said.

"The incentive is to achieve it again, and at a new stadium.

"You could also say 'he was won the World Cup, why would he want to win it again?'

"It is always the next trophy which motivates you."
