Real Madrid make Arsenal's Henry No1 target

Real Madrid have made Arsenal captain Thierry Henry their prime galactico target for season 2006/07.

Sources close to Henry have told AS that Real have been in contact since Christmas, but the Frenchman won't make public his decision until Arsenal's Champions League campaign has run its course.
The talks began with former Real president Florentino Perez, who kept Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein and Henry regularly up-to-speed on their approach. Perez's resignation stalled negotiations, but in recent days they've been revived.
A Real source said: "Henry would be the head lion here. He would lead our project (on and off the field)."
