Eriksson plans squad without Man Utd's Rooney

England boss Sven Goran Eriksson is working on a 'Plan B' which involves a squad without Manchester United star Wayne Rooney.

The Sun says Eriksson has all but given up hope of the crocked striker playing any part in this summer's finals in Germany.
Scans on Roon's injured right foot yesterday confirmed the damage is far more serious than was originally feared.
The hitman has suffered "a cluster" of fractures and Eriksson's right-hand man Tord Grip confirmed: "It doesn't look hopeful as far as Wayne is concerned.
"We're working on Plan B now - but just how that plan looks, I really don't know."
Grip admitted the problem has been made worse by doubts over Rooney's strike partner Michael Owen.
He said: "Of course it's serious when our top two forwards are both injured. The situation with Owen is not so bad and we are much more optimistic he will play."
