Pires furious over Arsenal dumping

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has axed Robert Pires from the starting line-up for tonight's clash against Juventus.
The Sun says the Frenchman was fuming after being told by Wenger he will be replaced by Freddie Ljungberg.

That almost certainly spells the end for Pires at Highbury - after spending six years with the Gunners and making over 250 appearances.
Pires wants a two-year contract but the Gunners are only prepared to offer 12 months as part of a general policy for players over 30.
The 33-year-old has played some of his best football of the season since returning to the Arsenal team as sub in the epic 1-0 victory over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in February.
But Wenger sees the more competitive Ljungberg as a better bet as Arsenal look to defend a 2-0 lead over Italian champions Juve in the quarter-final second leg at the Stadio delle Alpi. Midfield ace Ljungberg missed the first leg with a calf strain.
