Arsenal boss Wenger clashed with Tottenham's Davids

Police were forced to intervene as Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger clashed with Tottenham midfielder Edgar Davids in the tunnel at the end of Saturday's 1-1 draw.

The Daily Telegraph says Wenger had a head-to-head confrontation with Spurs manager Martin Jol during the game - the expletive-deleted version of what the Dutchman said is "please remove your face from mine" - after Tottenham failed to kick the ball out of play when Gilberto and Emmanuel Eboue collided immediately before the visitors' goal.
Still seething at the final whistle, Wenger walked off down the tunnel after refusing to shake hands with Jol, just as Davids - who was sent off for two bookable offences - headed the other way.
Davids said that referee Steve Bennett had assessed the situation, so there was no need to kick the ball out. Wenger, who called Jol a "liar" for claiming not to have seen the incident and Tottenham "cheats", was just as forceful in his views to Davids.
The foul-mouthed exchange was enough to prompt police to step in to ensure the row did not become physical.
It's reported the police won't be taking any further action.
