La Liga Round-up

The relegation six-pointer at The Anoeta went the way of Real Sociedad who claimed a crucial 3-0 win over bottom-of-the-table Malaga - who finished the game with nine-men.
Real went ahead through Ino Ansotegi on 35 minutes, which is the way is stayed until just after the hour when Malaga went down to ten-men as Juan Rodriguez picked up his second yellow.
Just a minute later Morten Skoubu (pictured) fired home to really punish Malaga. Xabier Prieto sealed the win by adding a third on 82 minutes and Malaga's miserable evening was confirmed by Richard Morales's red card in the final moments.
Malaga remain eight points adrift, but having played a game more than all their rivals - apart from Real who are still third from bottom - although they are now level with Real Mallorca and Alaves with only goal difference separating the three of them.
Villarreal won for the first time in five games as they edged out Real Zaragoza 1-0 at La Romareda.
Zaragoza dominated proceedings, but they succumbed to a Roger free kick on the stroke of half time - a result which sends The Yellow Submarines into seventh.
