Real Madrid players are shocked that club chiefs are willing to pay Thierry Henry £8 million-a-year to prise him away from Arsenal.
One Real player told AS: "£8 million-a-season for Henry? To pay that is madness. It is dangerous because then the other players will demand pay rises, which is only right when someone is getting that sort of money."
Another Real player said: "If you're going to pay Henry £8 million-a-season, then what will Ronaldo and Beckham get?
"If the president (Fernando Martin) goes through with this, then he is dead, because he would have review the pay of all Real players."
