Jose Reyes has told Arsenal teammate Robert Pires to accept a two-year contract offer from Villarreal.
Pires, 33, is mulling over a £6million lure from Villarreal after being offered just a one-year deal by the Gunners.
The Yellow Submarine have promised him a £3m signing-on fee plus £30,000 a week for the next two years.
Reyes said: "I've recommended that Robert go there. The Spanish League would suit him down to the ground.
"Also, the sun shines more than it does in England and he would have a great lifestyle there. So he should make the move and eat lots of paella!"
